With this project I wanted to use some of the 3D skills I use with motion design and apply that to static page for the web.
Using different modeling techniques I was able to create all of the objects on the page.
I wanted the objects to appear as real as I could so I kept that in mind when texturing the objects, but the it was the use of Gobal Illumination that brought the objects to life.
I rendered out every object individually then I composed it all together in photoshop and added drop shadows and color corrected the overall image to give it a bit of style.
It was at this stage of the design process where the image seemed very computer generated and I was going for a stylized yet real feeling design. So I took the design a step further and added organic elements like doodling on the pages and a coffee stain.
When deciding how I was going to code this massive side scrolling site, I determined it would be easiest to use the entire compostion as a background image and then absolutely position the content where I needed it. It worked out perfect.
